About RAD

I am a teacher and counselor with expertise in assisting children and adolescents to develop their minds, abilities, opinions, and values in a very messy world over which they have little control. I am especially interested in, and empathetic to, the challenges young men experience at a time when social, economic, and political circumstances are turbulent, polarized, and uncertain. Especially during adolescence when the physical maturation of their bodies includes rapid development and expansion of their brains, they may experience frustration with how things “are” without the capacity to fully grasp the agency they will have as adults. They may have conceptual understanding, but the primary reasoning part of the human brain doesn’t reach maturity until their mid-twenties! And hormones without mature reasoning and judgment is always a challenge! Nonetheless they inspire me to be my best self so that they see they can do the same.

I am also an accomplished musician who records, produces, and releases my own work through most streaming platforms. I am the lead guitarist and contributing vocalist with Elspeth Tremblay & The Treatment that also streams widely. You can hear a snapshot of my work on this platform as well.
